Joseph Alfred Burrell

Joseph Alfred Burrell was born May 5, 1951 in Newark, New Jersey and died February 7, 2022 in Athens, Georgia. He served with the Houston Police Department for 27 years. Joe never met a stranger and would lend a helping hand whenever he could. He was a carpenter in his spare time. Joe was strong in his faith and said many times, “God works in strange ways.” His happy place was being on a sailboat in the ocean. Joe is preceded by many loved ones including his parents, David A. Burrell (1996) and Mary C. Burrell (2013), his loving wife Barbara Ann (Clark) Burrell (2010), his best friend and brother-in-law, Michael Riley (2003), and his brother Matthew Burrell (2021). Joe leaves many relatives including his sons, Andrew Burrell, Christopher and Sharon Burrell, Kirston Otis, Amanda Burrell, and Matthew Burrell. Siblings and their spouses: MaryEllen and Michael Davis, Leonard and Wendy Burrell, Daniel Burrell, Catherine and Terry Tuel, James Neal Simms, Patricia Wolf, David and Tina Burrell. Nieces and Nephews: Jeanette and Michael Dutcher, Michael and Paola Riley, Tricia and Jared Coxwell, David Watson, Kiersten Tuel, T.L.
